As an individual and family therapist, I have the very good fortune to sit with a couple dozen people a week, listening as they share their struggles and their successes. Often I wish others could hear our amazing conversations. Sometimes a theme pops up again and again, and I wish for a way to share information with a whole lot of folks all at once, instead of just one person at a time. I hope this blog will do just that: be a place for me to share the questions and (partial) answers we come up with; offer a link to amazing resources and research that help us understand ourselves and others better; reduce stigma and shame around mental health issues; and most especially, let people know they are not alone in navigating our very challenging world. While maintaining my clients’ complete confidentiality, I thought I’d share some of the amazing things I am privileged to learn – and teach – so you can benefit too!
